Disciples are a south London trio (Nathan Vincent Duvall, Gavin Koolmon, and Luke McDermott) who pride themselves on staying true to the myriad of sounds they love, while also appealing to a wide audience. Thanks to their combined talent, determination and relentless hard work, the group have toured the globe, won numerous awards, picked up Gold and Platinum hits and maintained a consistent flow of high-quality productions. After making the decision to take a breather and pursue individual projects in 2018, Disciples are refreshed, rejuvenated and back with a locker full of new tracks.
Formed in 2013, Disciples found success in a relatively short space of time. As with any seemingly ‘overnight success’ story though, all three members had already been working for a long time earning their stripes as solo performers. United through their love of music, and having similar tastes, they formed a three-man unit and released their first single, ‘Remedy’, in 2013 on New State Music. This was followed by the ‘Catwalk’ EP in 2014. These early cuts helped to establish the Disciples sound; deep and dark with contagious rhythms and catchy vocals – all wrapped up in a haze of sultry atmospherics and earworm melodies.
Inspired by superstars like Jamie Jones and Damian Lazarus at Crosstown Rebels through to Daft Punk, Booka Shade and nineties hits like ‘Missing’ by Everything But The Girl, the boys imbued their music with an air of mystery, while also crafting beats and bass to get the dancefloor moving.
