Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ is certified RIAA 30x Multi-Platinum

The Recording Industry Association of America has announced that Michael Jackson’s iconic album ‘Thriller’ has achieved certified 30x multi-platinum status. The album has become the first album to ever sell over 30 million copies in the US.

Michael Jackson is recognised as the biggest selling artist of all time, with over 1 billion worldwide sales, and ‘Thriller’ alone selling over 100 million copies.

Upon its initial release on 30th November, 1982, ‘Thriller’ went to number one across the globe topping the charts in the U.K., France, Italy, Canada and South
Africa during apartheid. The ‘Thriller’ music video is also the only music video to ever be inducted into the Library of Congress‘ National Film Registry in its 25-year history.
