Amy Wheatley Named Businesswoman of the Year at Women in Music Awards 2025

We’re proud to celebrate Amy Wheatley, Managing Director of Columbia Records UK, who has been named Businesswoman of the Year at this year’s Music Week Women in Music Awards.

The Women in Music Awards honour leaders who has made a lasting impact on the music industry by driving commercial success, championing innovation, and creating space for others to thrive. Amy’s leadership at Columbia continues to set the standard for what’s possible when creativity and strategy go hand in hand.

Amy Wheatley, Managing Director of Columbia Records, said: “My musical journey started with passion, and continued through relentless curiosity, hard work, and a lot of late nights. More recently, it has become more than personal growth. It’s become about building something greater, empowering teams, nurturing talent, and creating space for creativity and innovation to thrive. It becomes about showing what it is to be a leader, a human, and a mum. The juggle is real. These awards highlight the power of amazing people – like [us] all – supporting women, because when we do this whole industry rises.”

This year has seen outstanding achievements across Columbia’s roster. MK celebrated his first UK No.1 single with “Dior” featuring Chrystal, further solidifying his position as a global dance music powerhouse with more than 3 billion streams and multiple Platinum hits. Wolf Alice soared to the top of the UK Albums Chart with their acclaimed fourth studio album, The Clearing, their first release under Columbia, and earned a shortlist nod for the 2025 Mercury Prize. Central Cee’s Can’t Rush Greatness topped charts in eight countries, became the UK’s biggest-selling rap album of the year, and powered a sold-out 39-date world tour. And rising star Skye Newman made an electrifying entrance to British music, securing Top 20 placings with her first two singles and marking herself as one of the country’s most exciting new voices.

Skye Newman, who presented Amy with the award, said: “I feel very honoured to be able to introduce Amy Wheatley. She’s so good at knowing how to handle people. I walked into the Columbia office, and I chose them [as my label] because there are so many amazing, powerful women working there. You’re very special and I feel lucky to have you standing by my side.”

Congratulations to Amy on this well-deserved recognition and thank you for your continued leadership and vision.
