Beyoncé’s ‘Spirit’ nominated for a Golden Globe Award

Beyoncé has been nominated for a 2020 Golden Globe Award, with her track ‘Spirit’ from Disney’s The Lion King in the running for Best Original Song – Motion Picture. 

The track is taken from the multi-artist album The Lion King: The Gift. Executive-produced by Beyoncé, the record is a musical ode to the classic story of Disney’s The Lion King feature film. 

Beyoncé brought together a symphony of some of her favourite artists and the most talented, important African artists of the day to both pay tribute to the iconic film and bring the authentic sounds of African music to the world. 

The full list of nominees for the 2020 Golden Globes is available here. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Sunday, January 5th in Beverly Hills, California.
