Presenting George Michael’s ‘Listen Without Prejudice/MTV Unplugged’

In celebration of the reissue of George Michael’s iconic Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1 album, Sony Music have worked with Channel 4 to commission George Michael: Freedom, a new film narrated by George.

Directed by George Michael and David Austin, the documentary features Stevie Wonder, Nile Rodgers, Elton John, Mark Ronson, Mary J Blige, Tony Bennett, Liam Gallagher, James Corden, Ricky Gervais, Kate Moss, the ‘Freedom! ‘90’ video supermodels (Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Tatjana Patitz and Linda Evangelista) and more.

George was working on George Michael: Freedom right up until Christmas 2016, and it is his final work.

The film aired on Channel 4 at 9pm last night and will be shown again on Thursday at 10.50pm. International distributor BBC Worldwide will also make it available to broadcasters around the world, with the US premiere set to air on Showtime on October 21st at 9pm ET/PT.

Listen Without Prejudice/MTV Unplugged will be re-released via Sony Music on October 20th. Originally released in 1990, Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1 was George’s second solo album – produced, arranged and written almost entirely by himself, it confirmed him as a pioneering, agenda-setting artist. Topping charts worldwide, the album rocketed to No.1 in the UK and is certified 4x platinum.

A remastered version of George’s 1996 MTV Unplugged performance will also be available as an album for the first time as part of the deluxe box set, two CD and digital editions. Recorded in London in 1996, the concert features career-defining songs from George’s Wham! period right through to his Faith, Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1 (Freedom ’90) and Older eras.
