Stacey Tang Appointed Chair of 2026 BRIT Awards
With The BRIT Awards confirmed to debut at Manchester’s Co-op Live in 2026, Sony Music UK is proud to announce that Stacey Tang, Co-President of RCA Records UK, has been appointed Chair – a role that recognises her outstanding leadership and influence in the music industry.
Stacey Tang, Co-President of RCA UK, said: “As a massive music fan I always watched the BRIT Awards growing up, but revisiting the shows through the lens of Chair has given me a totally different perspective. Being inspired by the spectacle and show as a young person, now motivates me to create something that feels important nationally and globally, while capturing the brilliant and eccentric nuance of British music and culture.
“The decision to move to Manchester has been met with amazing feedback from the local community and the industry. To oversee a show that’s doing something for the first time feels energising but ultimately, we also want to inject fun into the proceedings … and people in Manchester know how to have fun!”
Stacey’s appointment is a testament to her track record in championing British talent and driving global campaigns for artists including Myles Smith, JADE, Cat Burns and Bring Me The Horizon alongside international success with Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus and Sleep Token. Named in Billboard’s UK Power Players 2025 and BBC’s Women in Music list, Stacey also plays a leading role in diversity and social impact initiatives across the industry.
Creative Team and Awards Evolution
The 2026 BRITs will feature a world-class creative team: multi-Emmy-winning production designer Misty Buckley, double BAFTA-winning entertainment director Phil Heyes, BRITs TV Executive Producer Sally Wood, and BPI’s Maggie Crowe OBE. Together, they will bring a fresh, innovative approach to the UK’s biggest night in music.
Award categories will also evolve to reflect The BRITs’ ambition to celebrate creativity and diversity. The BRITs Critics’ Choice award returns to spotlight future stars, while Breakthrough Artist replaces Best New Artist to champion transformative moments in an artist’s career. These changes, alongside refreshed eligibility criteria, ensure the BRITs remain a platform for both established and emerging talent.
With Stacey at the helm, The BRITs 2026 promises to be an unforgettable celebration of British music and culture.
