WHAM!’s Last Christmas No.1 for the fifth time in UK chart

WHAM! have scored the top spot in the UK Official Singles Chart, with their enduring hit ‘Last Christmas’ reaching No.1 for the fifth time.

George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley’s festive classic first reached No.1 in 2021, 36 years after its 1984 release. The iconic song has now achieved 6x platinum in the UK and US, with over 1.6 billion streams worldwide, so far. To celebrate this success, WHAM! have released two limited edition singles, on 7” green vinyl and CD – the first time Last Christmas has been available as a standalone CD single, with the original artwork.

Andrew Ridgeley told Official Charts: “Christmas has indeed come early in 2023. I’m delighted that Last Christmas has once again reached the zenith of the Official Singles Chart, continuing a bit of a trend in the 2020s. Long may that continue!”
