“Kasabian in 360” wins best Immersive Campaign at the BIMAs

Sony Music’s Digital Creative Team have won the best Immersive Campaign for their incredible virtual reality concert experience with
Kasabian.

They received the award at the British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) awards ceremony held in London on September 17. Columbia Records partnered with O2 and Visualise to deliver a stunning 360 degree audio and video experience for fans for the band’s gig at London’s O2 Academy Brixton, where they got the opportunity to get closer to the band.

Three viewpoints were captured, giving fans the chance to ‘be on stage’ with the band as well as experience the gig from the press pit and amongst the crowd. Fans could engage with this on browser, mobile, tablet and Samsung VR where the audio also changes as the user’s viewpoint moves around.
