Paloma Faith unveils premium content for pioneering Alexa skill
Paloma Faith has expanded her popular Alexa skill ‘Paloma’s Bedtime’ to add new premium stories and re-recordings. Originally launched in 2018 as the world’s first artist-owned Alexa Skill, it has remained a staple part of parents’ night-time routines for their children.
‘Paloma’s Bedtime’ features a host of stories, lullabies, sleep sounds and goodnight messages read by Paloma, designed to help send young ones off to sleep. The newly-launched update, a collaborative effort between RCA and 4th Floor Creative, includes three more classic children’s stories: ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and ‘The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle’, which are available to purchase for £1.99 directly through their voice assistant, plus a free hour-long version of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’.
“I know too well how hard it can be being torn between work and kids or kids and other kids and so I’ve decided to take some of the strain off and read your kids bedtime stories to them for you,” said Paloma, speaking about the updated skill. “Heck, I may even use it myself and sneak out for a wine, who knows! Anyway, hope it helps.”
“Following the success of ‘Paloma’s Bedtime’, we’re really excited to be bringing new content to the skill which we hope will continue to delight fans and offer parents continued support in sending their little ones off to sleep,” added Lauren Fitzgerald, Senior Digital Marketing Manager at RCA Records UK.
The update employs Amazon’s new ‘In-Skill Purchasing’ technology, marking the first step in testing new commercial models in voice technology. It also includes re-recordings of the skill’s navigation to streamline the available options.
‘Paloma’s Bedtime’ is available in India, Canada, Australia, the US and the UK, with in-Skill purchasing currently available for users in the US and UK only. It can be accessed by asking an Alexa device to ‘Open Paloma’s Bedtime’, or via the Alexa app.
