Sony artists honoured at the MTV Video Music Awards 2016

The annual MTV VMAs were held on Sunday 28th August at Madison Square Garden, to honour the best music videos throughout the year.

The evening saw Beyoncé break the record for the most MTV VMAs of all-time, as she now has 21 accolades to her name. Picking up a total of 8 on the night, including the prestigious prize for Video Of The Year for her track Formation. She also took to the stage for an incredible performance of tracks from her critically acclaimed visual album Lemonade.

Fifth Harmony took home the award for Best Collaboration with their hit single Work From Home (feat. Ty Dolla $ign) and Song of Summer for their new track All In My Head (Flex).

The late David Bowie was honoured with Best Art Direction for his Blackstar video released earlier this year, while Calvin Harris walked away with two awards – as his collaboration with Rihanna This is What You Came For won him Best Male Video and How Deep is Your Love feat. Disciples won Best Electronic Video.

The night saw the highly anticipated return of Britney Spears, who took to the VMA stage for the first time in nearly 10 years, while The Chainsmokers performed new hit single Closer featuring Halsey.
