Sony Music UK appoints Elton Jackson Director of Artist and Employee Wellbeing

Elton Jackson has joined Sony Music UK in the newly created position of Director of Artist and Employee Wellbeing. This role underlines Sony Music UK’s ongoing commitment to ensuring artists and employees feel well supported.

This is a first of its kind hire for the company and strengthens the support structures already in place. Sony Music UK has long provided assistance for artists where needed, and all on-roster artists and managers have access to various resources available via Sony Music – from advice on finances, social media or managing pressure, to more general and preventative screenings.

Sony Music globally also recently announced the Artists Forward and Artist Assistance programmes – offering financial and wellness solutions to global on-roster talent, including access to free, confidential counselling services. Find out more about how we support our artists.

Elton started his career in the entertainment industry and has in-depth and first-hand experience in understanding the multifaceted needs of the music business. He is also a trained psychodynamic psychotherapist and former Samaritan. Elton will be responsible for managing Sony Music UK’s overall wellbeing provision and will provide holistic and comprehensive in-house support for artists in all aspects of their career, and for employees who require additional assistance or access to further resources.

Wellbeing has been a primary focus for Sony Music UK for several years. Senior management and employees have completing mandatory Mental Health at Work workshops in collaboration with leading mental health charity Mind, which focused on spotting the signs of poor mental health, supporting those struggling and understanding different mental health conditions and contributing factors.
