Sony Music UK’s A&R Academy opens for applications

Sony Music UK’s A&R Academy is now open for applications, offering the chance for development in this specialised field at one of the UK’s most successful major labels.

The 12-month, paid opportunity forms part of the wider internship network at Sony Music UK. Successful applicants will be allocated a personal mentor and along with fellow interns, get the chance to attend ‘Spotlight Sessions’ to learn more about the mechanics of a major record company.

Day to day, members of the academy will be working closely with the A&R team who will develop their skillset through on-the-job training. Bespoke A&R training will be provided, covering a range of topics from music rights to data, music trends to studio and mixing sessions, artist development and what really goes into releasing a track.

The programme starts in March 2022 and is paid at the London Living Wage. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and be available for a full-time role for 12 months. Please note, this is an entry level role and not suitable for experienced industry professionals.

Opportunities are available within RCA, Columbia, Since ‘93, Black Butter and Dream Life Records. Head to our careers page to check out the job description and apply to your chosen label.
