Headie One joins forces with AJ Tracey & Stormzy for ‘Ain’t It Different’

Headie One has teamed up with AJ Tracey and Stormzy on his new single ‘Ain’t It Different’, out now via Relentless Records. The track is taken from Headie’s forthcoming album ‘Edna’, which is set for release later this year.

Produced by FRED and Toddla T, ‘Ain’t It Different’ samples two distinctive tracks: M-Dubs’ ‘Bump and Grind’ and Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ ‘Pretty Little Ditty’ (which was also sampled by Crazy Town on the US No.1 hit ‘Butterfly’). It marks Headie’s second collaboration with Stormzy, after last year’s Top 10 hit ‘Audacity’.

Directed by Taz Tron Delix, the accompanying music video features Headie, AJ and Stormzy as members of an elite secret society, with cameos from RV and OFB.

‘Ain’t It Different’ follows the success of Headie’s ‘Only You Freestyle’ featuring Drake, which reached No.5 in the UK Singles Chart last month. The song topped Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube’s Trending Chart upon release, making Headie the first drill artist to hit No.1 on all three platforms simultaneously.

In April he released ‘GANG’, an experimental collaborative mixtape with producer Fred again… Featuring artists including FKA twigs, Jamie xx, Sampha, Octavian and Slowthai, the project received praise from tastemaker publications including CRACK, NME, Pitchfork, Dazed and Loud & Quiet.

To date, Headie’s music has amassed over 60 million streams and notched up multiple top 20 placements on the UK Charts, with his 2019 ‘Music x Road’ mixtape reaching the Top 5. Last year he played Glastonbury Festival and sold out Brixton Academy, his biggest headline show to date, while crossover track ‘Both’ became his biggest airplay hit.
