Nubian Jak Community Trust is a large diversity plaques and sculpture scheme.
Its raison d’être involves the promotion of equality and diversity for public benefit through educational plaques, eliminating discrimination on the grounds of race, raising awareness and promoting activities to foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds, some of whom have not had historic recognition.
The Social Justice Fund supported the delivery of three plaques commemorating Black Britons’ contributions to music culture and history. The plaques created through this partnership honoured George Bridgetower, Evelyn Dove and Smiley Culture.
